K-Pop legends BIGBANG confirms global tour for their 20th Anniversary.
YG Entertainment’s founder Yang Hyun-Suk on a recently uploaded video titled “2026 YG PLAN | YG Announcement” confirmed the group’s plan to officially reunite ahead of the group’s 20th anniversary. Yang mentioned the group and company’s long-standing partnership will ensure continuous great quality, a “beautiful, complete, and outstanding performance”.
The tour will feature the three official members – G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung.
The member’s appearances together have been pretty scarce in recent years. Surprise features in each other’s solo concerts and award shows are the only chances and hope that fans have to see them together. Since last year, G-Dragon has hinted on multiple occasions of Bigbang’s comeback. On a few of his solo tour stops, he teased fans with mentions of “gearing up” with the group ahead of their 20th anniversary. Additionally, Taeyang also mentioned on his guest appearance in Daesung’s solo concert last January that they will continue their promotions until fans have had enough of them.
Why fans are excited
Though debuting in 2006 as a five-member group, Bigbang has since gone through line up changes. Their youngest member Seungri terminated his contract in 2019 and TOP ended his activities with the group in 2023 leaving the group as a trio. Many fans have expressed their disappointment in the lack of group activities in recent years.
That’s why when leader G-Dragon on his solo tour mentioned that fans have waited long enough, exciting global fans. Fans all over the world started to show their excitement by sharing snippets of the members giving hints of what their comeback would be like on various social media platforms garnering attention worldwide.
Other than the world tour the members have long mentioned about a comeback hinting at new music releases as a group. Bigbang’s last release as a group was in 2022 with their single “Still Life” meaning fans have been waiting 4 years to hear their voices together.
While no further details have been disclosed, fans are already preparing to go to war for the tickets knowing how competitive it will be once the tour dates and stops are announced.
A shocking solo return, TOP’s “Another Dimension”
Another news that shocked fans was the upcoming comeback of former member TOP who previously mentioned that he was retiring from the entertainment industry back in 2023. He first reversed this decision by appearing in the popular Netflix series Squid Game 2 as Thanos.
Earlier this year he took to Instagram to announce his comeback with the caption “A NEW ALBUM IS ON THE WAY” and the album title “ANOTHER DIMENSION”. He also posted teasers for “Studio 54” and “HUMANITY” which are supposedly the songs that would be included in his upcoming album. No release date has been confirmed as of now but media outlets are speculating the album to be released in the first half of 2026.
Even though TOP is not officially part of Bigbang anymore fans are still excited for his comeback as this will be his first solo release in 13 years following “DOOM DADA” in 2013.
